October 22, 2012 - In Memoriam
Charles "Chucky" Melillo was a member of the IAEP local 20 when he died suddenly and tragically at the young age of 27. He was a dedicated EMT and Fire Fighter, selflessly serving his communities each and every day.
Chucky had a moving funeral, attended by service members from the area, which was described and photographed in a Patch article, which you can read here.

Charles "Chucky" William Melillo a lifelong resident of Port Chester died unexpectedly October 21, 2012. He was 27 and was born Februray 4, 1985 in Port Chester to Charles Melillo, Jr. and Shari Groglio Melillo. He graduated from Port Chester High School. Chucky was an EMT for the Empress EMS in Yonkers and Harrison EMS. He was devoted and dedicated member of the Harry Howard Hook and Ladder Fire Company #1 of the Port Chester Fire Department since 2003 and currently was serving as Captain. He started his fire career as a member of the Explorers Post #700. He was also a player and captain of the Westchester Vengeance (Semi-Pro) Football Team. He was also a parishioner of the Holy Rosary Church. He is survived by his parents Shari Melillo of Port Chester and Charles Melillo and wife Annie of Stamford, Ct., brother Nick Melillo of Port Chester, maternal grandmother, Emily Groglio of Rye Brook and paternal grandmother Mildred Melillo of Port Chester, uncles William Groglio of Rye Brook, Dr. Greg Groglio, M.D. and wife Elaine of Slidell, La. and Robert Melillo and wife Susan of New Fairfield, Ct. Chucky is survived by his devoted brother and sister firefighters and EMS coworkers. He was predeceased by his grandfathers William "Poppy Bert" Groglio and Charles "Poppy Chuck" Melillo
